Negative Self-Talk vs Positive Self-Talk
We are all guilty of negative self-talk (NST), which simply means we are telling ourselves we can't do something or we are not capable of achieving something. It is so easy to fall into this trap of NST when we fail at something or when we see someone else doing something that we wish we could have done. This is very toxic for our personal well-being and leads to stress and can also impact our relationships. Remember your subconscious mind is always recording all these things in the background.
If we want to grow in our professional and personal lives, we have to drop the negative self-talk and focus on positive self-talk (PST), which can lead to lower stress levels, healthier lives, and also help us achieve higher success in life. But how do you overcome NST? It's not easy, but try to focus on the positives. When you're faced with a certain situation, don't react immediately, instead pause, think and then respond. Also, try to think of stories of good/positive things that have happened in your life. Try to look at the positive side of situations. To overcome NST you have to keep practicing and working on it, just remember it won't happen overnight. P.S. I know this may sound harsh, but try to spend less time on social media, it really isn't healthy for our mental health.
Also, practice telling yourself positive affirmations every day (see below under tools).

Daily Affirmations
To help reinforce the importance of positive self-talk I decided to incorporate some daily affirmations as a tool we all can use on a daily basis. Turn it into a habit to tell yourself these positive affirmations on daily basis.
I can keep myself safe.
I deserve love.
I am a good and loving person.
I can do it.
I can trust myself.
I am in control of my life.
I now have choices.
I have intelligence.
I am okay just the way I am.
I can get what I want.
I can succeed.
I can make mistakes and learn.
I can choose who to trust.
I belong here.
I can feel all of my feelings.
I can think and feel at the same time.
I can know what I know.
I can initiate, grow and learn.
I can be active and quiet.
I can think and speak for myself.
My needs and wants are important.
I can be independent and interdependent.
I can be powerful and ask for help at the same time.
I can be creative, competent, productive, and joyful.
I can trust my inner wisdom.
